Nancy Brucker is an experienced writer and editor who held jobs in the publishing world for many years, including Assistant Foreign/National Editor at the San Francisco Chronicle (formerly the Examiner), Assistant City Editor at the Contra Costa Times and Associate Editor at Skeptic magazine.

After receiving her Juris of Doctor (Doctor of Laws) from the University of California's Berkeley Law School, she worked in the fundraising field for more than ten years, including positions held as Assistant Dean of the University of Oregon Law School, and Director of Gift Planning for the University of Oregon Foundation. In that capacity, she wrote and edited multiple fundraising and outreach publications, including a bi-monthly newsletter on gift planning, the Oregon Campaign'sgift planning brochure, a history of the book "Charitable Planning with Timber and Timberland" published by the Northwest Planned Giving Roundtable.

Nancy has made numerous presentations at national major gifts and gift planning conferences, and her articles on fundraising have been published by CASE and the National Committee on Planned Giving.

She has also written for such diverse publications as The Washington Post, Hemispheres (the United Airlines inflight magazine), the Land's End catalogue and Small Farmer's Journal. She is currently a freelance editor for Thorndike Press, a part of Gale/Cengage Learning.
